Job Description
Wolverine Advanced Materials is a leading producer of NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) control specialty coated steel used in the automotive and technology industries. Wolverine Advanced Materials is headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan with manufacturing locations in Blacksburg, VA and Leesburg, FL.

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer in our Blacksburg, VA facility with the following qualifications:


Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering preferred); Master’s Degree preferred • At least 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment providing direct manufacturing process support. Ability to design, manage construction and installation of automation projects with heavy involvement in instrumentation and SCADA system implementation. • Ability to design, manage construction and installation of tooling, fixtures and machines involved in continuous flow production. • Ability to work with various brands of PLC, PC and motion control products. • Knowledge of SAFE practices in dealing with volatile chemicals and CLASS1 DIV1 environment. • Experience in AUTOMOTIVE CORE TOOLS (APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D). • Technical writing and documentation skills including CAD and Microsoft Office. • Knowledge of Six Sigma and other problem solving tools including Lean, 6S and Kaizen. • Previous experience using risk management tools such as PFMEA’s or other control plans • Knowledge of PLC, PC and SCADA preferred • Training and experience in practices such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Total Quality Management (TQM), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Design of Experiment (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) • Working knowledge of instrumentation and communications, Modbus, Modbus TCP and Ethernet • Effective communication and team building skills
